There is Hope for the Lost

I give thanks to God who protects me every day and blesses me steadfastly in His way. “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneths me.” Philippians 4:13

The commandment of Jesus is to preach the gospel and to make disciples, so I do nothing but listen to what God ask me to do.
I was pleasantly surprised by what a man told me after a group meeting.
“Elijah, as you talked about baptism and how I can follow Jesus Christ, I felt a power that flooded my whole body. I have never had such an experience before!”
The way the Bible was presented to him makes him want to follow Jesus Christ, and he wants to continue coming to the weekly meetings at the Hope Church.
Thank God for Viorel, who was encouraged by the Scripture.

I was on the street, handing out masks and soaps to the people of Craiova. There I met Catalin, a gentleman of about 50 years. After I finished handing out the things, I invited him to tea. After two hours of discussion from the Scripture, I noticed that he was open and interested in what it meant to be a Christian. I say this because I have seen that it has a tendency towards oriental beliefs, yoga and mysticism.
At the end of the conversation he asked the following question: “Was there no other solution to man’s salvation than the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ?”
I am glad that God is part of my preaching of the gospel. I want to thank and congratulate you, the partners called by God, to come with me in the work of spreading the gospel.

Prayer Requests:

Health – because I walk many kilometers when I do evangelism.
Courage to face any obstacle from the field.
To be able to face the threats and dangers that come from people.
Help from God to complete the call and evangelistic service on the street and the mission, until the Lord Jesus calls me home.

The pandemic does not prevent evangelism!

With God’s help, I arrived in Craiova again this October and I will stay two weeks in Craiova city and Draganesti-Olt city. Together with Ana Costea, we did evangelism on the street, sharing the Word of God. I want many souls to not only hear the gospel but also to accept it. We met people who were open to the gospel and prayed to the Lord to persuade them to receive Him as Lord and Savior.

I met many people to whom I shared the gospel and asked for their phone numbers, I continued to share Jesus to them by phone. I also gave Christian books to people on the street.

My desire is to teach young missionaries how to share the gospel with the people we come in contact with. But one important thing is for them to learn new ways to start conversations with people, practicing the pattern of the Lord Jesus with the seven churches in Revelation.

When I stayed in Draganesti, I was in a Pestra village where I met a group of people to whom I preached the gospel and they showed quite a lot of interest and I intend to meet them again in the coming days so I will preach the gospel again.

Prayer Requests:

May the Lord give me health and strength to work in the field of the gospel all my life
Courage and zeal not to be ashamed of the gospel
For the salvation of the people I come in contact with
Strength to live by faith in this work

At work for Christ

“Preach the Word: be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction.”
– 2 Timothy 4:2

Thanks be to God for your involvement in His work in Romania. I pray to the Lord that you are well, especially during this time of the pandemic.

In the last while, I have been involved in the ministry in Craiova and Draganesti-Olt, alongside Raul Costea and George Serban. My calling from the Lord is for street evangelism, in families and in small groups or Bible study groups. I have also been involved in social projects. I have seen how God is working in Oltenia. I met people who listened to me tell them about Christ and some of them even came to our meetings. God is sending us people, even by them coming to us to tell them about the Lord Jesus.

One day, as I was leaving the mission house in Craiova, I prayed to God asking Him “Lord, today please bring us youth.” God listened to my prayer. I was very thankful and joyful for this beautiful event. I praise God for this. That day, I met two schoolboys. I conducted a questionnaire with five questions. An example of a question on this questionnaire is “Is God involved in your life?” They agreed with the questions. In this way, I was able to share the Gospel. They listened to me and another missionary with a lot of attention. The same day, I met a young woman with a child, who at first, refused to receive the books that I was offering to her. Instead of being discouraged, I continued to talk with her. Slowly, she started to think and tell us that in fact, she loves God. She received the books and we departed one another peacefully.

I also met with Mr. Petru. This man and his wife receive the Word in their lives. We can always rejoice together in the Lord. He has been attending a Bible study group with a Hope Church missionary, as well as attends the church weekly. Even though he doesn’t have legs, his face always radiates joy. It was a great joy to meet up with them once again to talk about the Gospel.

Prayer Requests:

Please pray that God would continue to give me courage in the ministry.
Please pray that we as followers of Christ would not be embarrassed to share about Christ.
Please pray for us that we would be an encouragement for those who are surrounding us.
