Muviswa Muhindo
My name is Muviswa Bienfait Muhindo. I am from the Democratic Republic of Congo and currently live in Nairobi, Kenya. I am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Africa International University.
At the university, I serve the Lord as the worship team coordinator through the Fellowship of Christian Unions Kenya (FOCUS Kenya). Beyond the university, I also serve in my local church as a singer, bass guitarist, and active member of the youth ministry.
Through Jesus-centered, one-on-one discipleship training, I have learned life-transforming lessons. One key lesson is the importance of rightly interpreting the Word of God. When Scripture is misinterpreted, it can produce wrong disciples and lead many people away from the truth. I have also learned that one-on-one discipleship is highly effective because it helps build strong believers who are rooted in God’s Word.
I have developed a deep burden for Africa. Although many people in Africa identify as Christians, the great need is for believers to be deeply grounded in Scripture and able to rightly handle the truth of God’s Word. What Africa needs is not only more believers, but true disciples who know Christ, follow Him faithfully, and disciple others.
In many churches, Scripture is sometimes misinterpreted. For example, the story of the prodigal son is often centered only on the lost son, while the passage also reveals the love and grace of the Father who joyfully welcomes the lost. In the same way, the account of Jesus turning water into wine is sometimes used to emphasize prosperity or material blessing, instead of pointing to Christ’s glory and divine power.
Because of this, I feel called to help make true disciples across Africa through one-on-one discipleship. My desire is to see believers grow in deeper understanding, personal faith, accountability, and obedience to God’s Word, so that they can also disciple others faithfully.
