Alfred Balume
My name is Nyongolo Alfred Balume. I was born in 1996 and I am from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Theology at Africa International University in Nairobi, Kenya. I am saved, and Jesus Christ is my Lord and personal Savior.
I also hold a bachelorâs degree in Tourism, Leisure, and Nature Conservation, and I have experience in business planning. In my home church, I serve as an evangelist. I am passionate about helping vulnerable people recover hope and joy, especially street children, a ministry that became close to my heart in early 2023 before I joined theological college.
During my time in Craiova, I had the grace of connecting with Hope Church Craiova, where I received teaching on interpreting Scripture in context. This helped me see how dangerous it is to misinterpret the Holy Scriptures. When Scripture is taken out of context, it can place heavy burdens on people and keep the church from growing in the true knowledge of God.
This teaching deeply impacted me, and I desire to pass this knowledge on to other believers in Africa. Although Africa has a high percentage of Christians, many believers remain spiritually superficial because Scripture is often misinterpreted. My desire is to help people grow deeper in Godâs Word and become true disciples of Jesus Christ.
