Missionary Project

Ministry in the Balkans

Our Purpose

We desire to establish a ministry center in Thessaloniki, Greece, which will serve the missionaries in that area and support them in short-term projects.

The Great Commission given by Jesus to His disciples implies that the Gospel should be shared with any ethnic group in this world. We have the privilege of spreading the Gospel and taking the Good News of salvation to the 3 ethnic groups of Romanians that live in the Balkan area.

Involvement

We collaborate with some missionaries in the Balkans. We coordinate certain resources to help them in their ministries. We have been able to send teams to support the ministries of some churches and organizations in Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania and Greece.

We have already had special missionary experiences in the areas surrounding Vidin, Bulgaria, as well as Timocului Valley, Serbia.

Description of the area

Vlahii, Aromanians and Meglano-Romanians are 3 ethnic groups with Latin and Romanian origins, who speak similar dialects of the Romanian language and who are spread out over Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania and Northern Greece.

The Balkans area is found in Southeastern Europe, having a population of over 70 million people and contains the following countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Republic of Macedonia and Montenegro. All of these countries have a population with Orthodox being the major religion.

The Balkans area also contains Croatia and Slovenia, Catholic countries. Islam predominates in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a majority of the Muslims in Kosovo and Turkey.
