Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
I shared this truth with the saving message of the gospel of Christ with 14 families in Icoana at the beginning of the year. With each family I wanted to share in their lives and build a closer relationship with them. These families are particularly poor, and most have children. Poverty has crushed them through illnesses and vices (drinking/violence). In each visit I offered them basic food under the “Hungry Child” program. I brought not only food but the Bread of Life, the Word of God. Please pray that the message I gave will not be a one time “feeding”, but that it will bring hunger for the Word of God through salvation.
Also, this year we started an Awana Club program. We are glad that God gave us this information. Each Saturday between 2-4 pm we meet with our club. As children come to Christ and grow into adults the potential is great for their impact in our world for Christ. During each meeting we have games, songs, memory verses, a Bible lesson, prayer and time of discussion. This program focuses on evangelism and discipleship of children. Through this ministry we are involving our church members and seeing them build relationships with their families and children. We pray that God will bless the work done in His name!
