During Spring we can be reminded of a truth the Scripture offers. The Bible warns us in Galatians 6:7, “Do not be deceived. God does not allow himself to be mocked. Whatever man plants that he will reap.”
Not one of us would expect a cucumber to grow where onions were planted, or expect tomatoes where we planted tulips. In this verse the Apostle Paul uses this same analogy to explain our spiritual life. If we live by the Spirit, trust Him to guide us and direct us in our good days as well as bad, we will reap good spiritual fruit. But in the same way if we live by the world, we will also reap the curse and vanity that goes with it.
As Spring comes to our villages we are given another opportunity to share this truth with our congregation and neighbors. Through the Seed Project we provided 150 families with four small packages of seeds and a booklet explaining God’s great plan, hopefully planting seed in the hearts of the readers.
As the Spirit guided I urged people to meditate on this great truth, and ponder how they live their lives, remembering we will live eternally reaping what was sown here on earth!
Pray with me that God will search and open their hearts to read this booklet to show them the greater worth of His harvest.
God help each of us to fulfill this verse: “Since we live by the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25).
