Last year in March, we had a World Race team here in Craiova. They went through the city to hand out invitations for a youth event. Diana was sitting on a bench in the park and she received an invitation. She didn’t come to the event, but she looked us up online and started attending our English club that took place online because of the pandemic. Even though she was born in America and spoke English, she had been living in Romania for 2 years and was so happy to be speaking English again.
Once we were able to meet in person, she started to come to our church with her mother. She also started having Bible study with Rachel, and then accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. On Sunday, she got baptized. This was our first baptism here at Hope Church in Craiova.
To stand up in front of young people and adults from Craiova, many of them not knowing God, and to have the courage, at the age of 14, to say “I have decided to follow Jesus, I will not turn back” was an impactful testimony on the day of her baptism.
Seeing her make this serious decision and listening to her declaration, I had both the joy and freedom to baptize her.
