As the Word of God says in Psalm 92:2, “proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night”, we think of God’s faithfulness to us throughout the year 2020, for which we want to bless His Name.
We started the new year with the same desire to serve God, and we were impressed to see how God shows his kindness to the people of Comani, with whom we work. Even if a certain social distance is imposed on us at church meetings, we rejoice every Sunday, to see how people come to church and we believe that this is God’s work. I was so happy when one Sunday morning, a woman came to church for the first time with another neighbor and, at the end of the meeting she asked me for a Bible but at the same time she told me that she couldn’t read very well. The neighbor with whom she come to the church approaches her and says: “It’s okay, but know that if you come to church every Sunday it’s impossible not to get anything in your head.” We were glad to see how they encouraged each other to come to church to find out more.
This month, we saw God’s desire that the people we work with be materially blessed, through the financial involvement of certain brothers in Christ. As a result we were involved in many social activities and many people were blessed with food and firewoods.
One morning, my wife told me about some kids living alone, that we should go and give them firewoods. I couldn’t sleep all night thinking that those kids might not have firewoods. When I woke up, the first thing was to tell my wife that we should go to them. We reached them, shouted at the gate and they went outside. We gave them a package of food and we asked them if they had firewoods, and one of them answered, “Yeah, we have.” In the next moment, in my mind, I told the Lord that I had been troubled by this thought all night, and when I got there they said they had firewoods, something didn’t seem right to me. My wife, who was with me, received the thought from the Lord to tell the boy if he would allow us to see the wood they had. We were shocked to see the wood they had. I don’t even know what words to use to describe.. An arm of twigs that were gathered in a corner of a room. In that moment I knew that God really wants to bless these kids. There was a possibility that we would leave and they were left without firewoods, but God’s plan was different.
But for all things, we want to bless the Lord and thank all those who are already part of this ministry in Comani, whether you support us in prayer, whether you talk to others about this ministry, or whether you are financially involved.
Prayer Requests:
- May the Lord give us wisdom and guidance in all the decisions we make
- Protection to my family
- More souls to be saved this year
