My name is David Hrelea and I grew up in a typical Romanian Eastern Orthodox family, where faith was expressed mostly through traditions and superstitions. My family believed that, as “good people,” they were already Christians and would go to heaven. I thought the same. Everything I knew about God was tied to superstitions, and the idea of a personal God who loves and saves seemed impossible to me.

When I was 13 years old, I started attending Hope Church in Craiova regularly. There, I discovered a different message that fascinated me. I went to church every Sunday, participated in Bible studies, and met regularly with my mentors. Although I was close to surrendering my life to God, my heart had not yet been fully moved.

On September 1, 2022, during the last day of a summer camp, God completely changed my life. The preacher delivered a message that felt like it was written just for me. God’s Word pierced my heart, and that day, I fully surrendered my life to Him.

Now, my greatest desire is to help young people in Craiova discover the joy of knowing Jesus Christ as their Savior, just as I did.
