My name is Ianis Brisca, and I was born in Milan in 2008, where I lived for 9 years before moving to Craiova. I grew up in a non-practicing Orthodox family, and for 14 and a half years, I didn’t know who Jesus really was or why He died on the cross. All I knew was that many people considered Him to be God.

During the pandemic, I began to grow curious about Jesus because I frequently came across videos about Him. However, I didn’t understand what the “gospel” meant or what its message was.

At the end of 2022, I started to feel an inner emptiness that I couldn’t explain. In my search for answers, I tried to build my life on the principles of Stoicism. However, nothing I tried could fill that void. One day, a Bible verse appeared on my phone that caught my attention—it was something completely new to me. That moment led me to take Christianity more seriously and to try following the Ten Commandments. Yet, every time I broke a commandment, I felt a heavy burden on my heart and a deep sense of shame.

In March 2023, I had a persistent thought: to read the Bible. Although I kept postponing it, the thought kept returning for 3-4 months. Eventually, I decided to open the Bible. Providentially, I started with the Gospel of John. There, I discovered the truth about Jesus: that He died on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins and that He rose again, proving that He can give eternal life to those who trust in Him.

In August 2023, I made the decision to truly repent and dedicate my life to God. This transformation was the most important moment of my life. On September 29, 2024, I publicly professed my faith through baptism.
