We are heading towards the end of 2022 and looking back, throughout the year we see God’s faithfulness and for that we are eternally grateful. Every day God was there to work both in our lives and in the lives of others, he was there to take care, he was there to encourage, to comfort, to support, to teach. The Bible says in Psalm 121:4, “Behold, He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.” We have a God who is always there for us, even if sometimes we don’t see it, but we know and believe His promises.
Together with the people of Comani, we were happy to celebrate Thanksgiving Day, during which we expressed our gratitude to God, who blessed us beyond measure despite the drought and a poor year announced in the news. At the end of the program we enjoyed having a meal together, that we usually do every 2 weeks.
For some time I have had it in my heart to make some Ukrainians happy, serving them with a trip to the mountains, during which they can relax and enjoy themselves. God gave me the opportunity to take 2 Ukrainian families to the mountains, to a spa center, a trip that was received with great joy by them. Sunday evening, after the church program in Craiova where 2 of the Ukrainian girls were baptized, we came to Comani, they slept at our place and in the morning we left for the mountains trip. We thank to our brothers from Kansas who got involved financially and made possible this trip, which came as a blessing after the girls made a covenant with the Lord.
As the weather got colder, people need wood, and God, who is good, chose to bless the people of Comani with firewood this year as well. Glorified be His Name for those who were part of this project. May God reward you and give you back. Great joy was made to the people, many of them were even troubled by the thought that they did not have enough firewood for the winter.
The children were also blessed with school supplies, being helped by the Completing the Task organization, from Texas. May the Lord help them to be diligent at school and to have the desire to learn, despite the fact that many of them can hardly be taken off the phone by their parents. Many of them ended up having a phone because during the covid period, making online school, there are parents who made efforts to purchase a phone so that they could be part of the school hours. Only the devil knows how to use this against them and instead of helping them, enslaves them with all kinds of useless things. God have mercy on them!
I had the joy of spending a blessed time with the men from the church going out to a restaurant. One of them told me that it had been over 20 years since he had been to a restaurant. In everything I want them to see the goodness of God that is abundantly poured out upon us.
In the end, i’m asking for your support in prayer for Onita, a woman who has been coming to church regularly for several years. She expressed her desire to be baptized and we will begin catechesis. May the Lord strengthen her in her decision, despite the pressures around her. We see the work of God in her life and we pray that He will continue this work in her.
We pray that her decision will give courage to other people to return to the Lord.
